Curriculum Overview

What is KOVA?

The KOVA Combat Method isn’t just another self-defense class — it’s a tier-one survival system designed specifically for women. Built from the most effective tactics of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, modern combatives, and real-world street survival, KOVA strips away the fluff and gives you only what works when it matters most.

Whether you’re facing a grab, a choke, a hair pull, or even a weapon threat, KOVA arms you with battle-tested strategies to escape, fight back, and survive. This isn’t theory — it’s practical, high-percentage tactics taught in an empowering, supportive environment.

How the Program Works

Every class is structured around three core pillars, giving you a complete toolkit for real-life survival:

Pillar 1: Strikes

Develop fight-ending striking skills you can rely on under pressure:

Palm heels, hammer fists, elbows, and knees

Punches (jab, cross, hook, uppercut)

Defensive strikes like eye rakes and knife hands

Kicks from standing and ground positions

Striking combinations for power and speed

Pillar 2: Escapes

Learn to break free from the most common attacks:

Wrist & arm grabs (single, double, 2-on-1)

Shirt & shoulder grabs (standing arm bar defense)

Chokes from the front, side, back, or against the wall

Hair grabs, headlocks, and rear chokes

Bear hugs (front & rear, under & over arms)

Wall pins & restraint escapes

Pillar 3: Ground Survival

Build confidence and control even when the fight goes to the ground:

Escapes from guard, mount, and pin positions

Punch defense and restraint survival

Shrimping, bridging, and technical get-ups

Submissions and sweeps for control (arm bars, guillotine, Kimura)

Ground strikes and up-kicks to finish the fight
